This session will explore the two fundamental driving forces which set in motion World War II in Europe. Racial ideology and "living space" was the Reich's New Order during the first two years of the war. These beliefs had enormous consequences for ordinary people and groups throughout Europe. Through selected readings we will examine in more detail those who benefited and those who suffered in Germany's quest for race and space.
